THE GATSBY
Branding, Marketing Materials, and Social Media Content Creation
One of my first branding projects was for a couple of friends who had a concept for a prohibition-era cocktail lounge on 6th Street in Austin, TX. The Gatsby opened in 2013 and soon became one of the most popular locations in the downtown scene. The bar dons a laser-cut iron plate featuring the iconic logo - the gleaming martini glass which doubles as the base of the small speakeasy table lamp.
Branding and Marketing Materials
Each of the founding members of The Gatsby selected their own business card designs from a cohesive set. Pens and comment cards were an important addition to the marketing materials prior to opening, and rotating drink special inserts were designed for table presentation.
Subscribers to their mailing list received a monthly newsletter in the style of a vintage newsprint, and banners and billboards were placed around the Austin area with upcoming events and venue information. The Gatsby is still going strong, hosting large events in their multi-level indoor/outdoor spaces.
Promotional Ads and Social Media Content Creation
The Gatsby became a popular Austin lounge thanks in part to their annual theme parties and big name musical guests. I was fortunate to be the designer in charge of the flyers and social media visuals for all of these events for several years. These were particularly special to me as a young designer because they provided me with a bit of freedom in the art direction and the opportunity to try out new artistic styles.
